Leaving Startup OS

Disconnect a product, uninstall the GitHub App, or delete an account, and understand what stays in GitHub.

Your repositories and the content Startup OS wrote to them remain in your GitHub organization. None of the steps below deletes anything in your GitHub.

Disconnect a product

A connected product uses one slot in your workspace allowance, even when its agents are paused. Disconnecting it stops its hosted connection and frees that slot. Its repository history and stable product identity remain. Reconnecting requires an available slot.

When you disconnect a product, Startup OS asks the app to pause its scheduled runs. If the product’s page says scheduled runs were not paused, disable dispatch.yml yourself: see What stays in your GitHub.

Uninstall the GitHub App

Uninstalling the App disconnects the organization from Startup OS. It does not delete its repositories or their contents. If you later reinstall, check your workspace allowance before reconnecting products.

Once the app is uninstalled it can no longer reach your repositories, so it cannot pause dispatch.yml. If you are not reinstalling, disable the workflow yourself, or delete the repository.

Delete your account

The Account page removes your hosted account and its workspace records. Repository content remains in GitHub. Contact support if you need help with a software refund; requests can be made within 14 calendar days of purchase. Implementation and integration engagements follow their written terms.

What stays in your GitHub

Startup OS never deletes anything in your GitHub. After you disconnect a product, uninstall the app, or delete your account, these remain until you remove them yourself:

  1. Your repositories. Each product’s application repositories, and everything Startup OS wrote to them, stay in your organization.
  2. The operations repository. It holds the product’s operating record. Delete it under the repository’s Settings, in the Danger Zone, or keep it.
  3. Its workflow files. dispatch.yml starts scheduled runs, and it keeps running unless it is disabled. If you keep the repository, open its Actions tab, select dispatch.yml, and choose Disable workflow. Until you do, each scheduled run starts and uses your GitHub Actions minutes.
  4. Its secrets: CLAUDE_CODE_OAUTH_TOKEN or ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, and STARTUP_OS_TOKEN, whichever you added. They go with the repository. If you keep it, delete them under Settings, Secrets and variables, Actions. Either way, revoke each one where you created it.
  5. The app installation. Uninstall it from the organization’s settings, under GitHub Apps, or from a personal account at github.com/settings/installations.
